The Oakland Diocese has mandated the fingerprinting of all adult volunteers who work with children. During the 2011 – 2012 seasons, the following CYO volunteers will be fingerprinted: • CYO Athletic Directors – All new Athletic Directors (or those not previously successfully fingerprinted); • CYO Basketball – All Coaches who are coaching Third Grade (and younger) Basketball teams. All New Coaches who are coaching Fourth and Fifth Grade Basketball teams (and those not previously successfully fingerprinted); •CYO Volleyball – All Coaches who are coaching Fourth Grade (and younger) Girl's Volleyball teams. All new coaches who are coaching Fifth Grade CYO Volleyball teams (and those not previously successfully fingerprinted)
Please see the attached flyer announcing fingerprint dates, times and locations for fingerprinting opportunities in each of our basketball leagues and for girls volleyball. Coaches may be fingerprinted at the site for their league or attend any of the other opportunities. The flyer also contains other ways to complete the fingerprint requirement.
For the those coaching in Girl's CYO basketball during the spring leagues (Metro, SAC, EBPL and Northern Leagues), there will be fingerprinting opportunities for those coaches in the spring.
Once a volunteer has been successfully fingerprinted for the Oakland Diocese, they will not need to be fingerprinted again.
